"The Air Canada crew did not acknowledge any of the controller's instructions".
Air Canada and American aviation officials are investigating a flight from Montreal that landed at the San Francisco airport Sunday night despite being repeatedly told to abort the landing because air traffic control wasn't sure if another plane had cleared the runway.
"There's no one on 28R but you", the air controller told the Air Canada pilot at the time.
"Upon landing the crew was informed the tower had attempted unsuccessfully to contact the aircraft, however, the message was not received by the crew", airline spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick says.
NIA Arrests Hizbul Chief Syed Salahuddin's Son
The Hizb founder's son, according to an NIA official, received at least four instalments of money in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The NIA has also registered two others cases related to terror funding - one in November 2011 and another in May this year.
'The tower controller subsequently instructed the Air Canada crew multiple times to execute a go-around because he was not certain that a preceding arrival would be completely clear of the runway before the Air Canada jet reached the runway threshold, ' Gregor said.
This weekend's incident comes not long after an Air Canada flight on the same runway came within 100 feet of smashing into two planes waiting to leave.
The FAA confirmed the aircraft involved in Sunday's close call as Air Canada flight 781, an A320, the same type involved in the near miss earlier this year.
Instead, the flight landed, as previously authorised, on runway 28R at 9:26 p.m. PDT (0626 GMT).
Jakarta seeks answers as army chief denied entry to US
Nurmantyo will step down as leader of the armed forces in 2018 and many analysts believe he has political ambitions. Former Indonesian ambassador to the United States Dino Patti Djalal called for a stronger government reaction.
This is the second unsafe incident involving an Air Canada flight. The Air Canada crew blames a radio problem, but that doesn't explain why they ignored (or just didn't see) the flashing lights telling them to go-around. Federal investigators determined that pilot error caused the plane to arrive too low at the airport runway. "Where is this guy going?" an unknown voice said on the air traffic control recording that day.
This isn't the first time that Air Canada has had issues at SFO.
In a written statement, Air Canada told KPIX 5, "After receiving proper clearance to land it proceeded to do so and landed normally".
Tom Steyer Creates Ad Campaign Calling for Trump's Impeachment
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, who once fended off liberal demands that her party impeach President George W. Bush, said this summer that Trump might well "self-impeach" as he tumbled from controversy to controversy.
