Apple said Friday it was delaying until early next year the release of its HomePod speaker set to compete with Amazon's Alexa-powered devices and Google Home as a smart home and music hub. However, now they are pushing back the release of their HomePod speaker due to unspecific reasons.
"We cannot wait for people to start using HomePod, which is a breakthrough of Apple's wireless loudspeakers for home, but we need a little more time before it is ready for our customers". The much awaited smart speaker was originally set to be released in United States by December 2017, but will now be available in U.S., U.K. and Australia by early 2018. It is also unclear whether this is affecting the start of sales in other countries.
The Apple HomePod will lose a significant number of potential sales because of the delay, but being absent for one holiday season might not matter in the long run for Apple. Apple HomePod is also built on the same lines but the last minute setback does not match their disciplined standards.

"Just like iPod reinvented music in our pockets, HomePod is going to reinvent music in our homes", Apple marketing head Phil Schiller said at the time.
The downside is that during all this time, there are many technological companies that have shown their novelties in the segment of smart loudspeakers.

There's a Ton of New Details About the 'Fantastic Beasts' Sequel
The kindly Hogwarts headmaster didn't always boast the wardrobe of a colourful Eastern Orthodox cleric. Now to get fans excited, the makers have released a motion poster and introduced the characters.
HomePod will work with Apple's HomeKit platform to control smart-home devices. Earlier this year, Google and Amazon put out a slew of other smart speakers, including a mini version of the Google Home and a model of the Echo with better sound quality. A lot of people would have included the Apple HomePod to their shopping list already. "It looks like their new target launch date for US, UK and Australia will be early 2018".
While the speakers may be class apart, Apple may fall short of providing good assistance with Siri. But now it seems that Apple wants to make a product solid enough before users pay $349 for it.
