Do you feel relaxed, excited, energetic, lazy or what?
There's an urban myth that gin makes you sad and most people probably dismiss it as exactly that.
The study is published as the Scottish government announced it will introduce minimum pricing for alcohol on 1 May next year in a bid to combat binge drinking. 53 percent of the people who took part in the survey revealed that they felt relaxed after drinking red wine. Thus, it was concluded that different types of alcohol have the same effect on people, regardless of their cultural level, social group and country of residence. For example, although the Hemingway personality insists that those who have it don't change at all when they're drunk, it's worth noting that the personality type got its name from the Hemingway quote about his being able to "drink any amount of whiskey without getting drunk".
The most aggressive individuals were, on the contrary, a marked preference for drinking alcohol in your own kitchen.
These effects of alcohol are negative. It includes beer too.
But spirits were more likely to elicit some positive feelings than either beer or wine.
"For centuries, the history of rum, gin, vodka and other spirits has been laced with violence". Interestingly, similar feelings, according to the study, experienced people living in different corners of our planet. Researchers used data from nearly 30,000 people who responded to the Global Drug Survey, a yearly worldwide poll about drug and alcohol habits around the world.
The bottom line is that I have a lot of questions about the study and its results, and although the whole thing is fascinating, those questions can unfortunately only be answered by further research. Some of the questions were that how do they feel when certain types of alcoholic beverages hit them.

The personal information of about 7 million drivers was accessed as well, including some 600,000 USA driver's license numbers. Yahoo didn't make its first disclosure about hacks that hit 3 billion user accounts during 2013 and 2014 until September 2016.
This compares to around a quarter of red or white wine drinkers and 19% of beer drinkers. "Opting for lower alcohol options and alternating alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic ones can help".
Interestingly, the feeling of aggression only arises in the minds of males. It was even tearful for some people.
Global survey on this topic was conducted by online research, which helped to know the opinion of tens of thousands of respondents. Only the surveys with completed responses were added to the study.
That's based on findings from the 2016 Global Drug Survey, run by an independent research organization based in London.

The response of the participants showed that there was a huge variation that was going on inside their bodies. "Someone who wants to relax might choose to have a beer or a glass of wine".
"The odds of feeling the majority of positive and negative emotions also remained highest among dependent drinkers, irrespective of setting".
Many drinkers claim to feel teary after a G&T, or unusually aggressive after a dram of whisky - but researchers now say they have found new evidence to suggest different types of alcohol elicit different emotional responses.
And heavy drinkers were more likely to select any drink that was associated for them with feelings of aggression and tearfulness when at home or when out.
