Chatwood will likely compete for a starting rotation spot with the departures of Jake Arrieta and John Lackey. Chatwood isn't the definite missing piece nor the X-factor, particularly since the Cubs ranked seventh in Major League Baseball with a staff ERA of 3.95 last season, but he definitely improves the rotation enough that the lineup will have more confidence in producing runs with a reliable arm on the mound.
Chatwood has had stark home-road splits while calling hitter-friendly Coors Field his home. He is 40-46 with a 4.31 ERA over six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels (2011) and Rockies (2012-14, 2016-17).
Last season, Chatwood was 8-15 with a 4.69 ERA in 33 appearances (25 starts) with the Rockies, tying for the most losses in the National League.Читайте также: The Star Trek Episodes That Quentin Tarantino May Turn Into a Movie
In 2016 Chatwood posted a 12-9 mark with a 3.87 ERA. Chatwood has never thrown more than 158 innings in a season and missed brief time with a calf injury in 2017.
The Cubs continue to be a leading suitor to land free-agent right-hander Alex Cobb, and they're one of seven finalists for Shohei Ohtani, the 23-year-old Japanses phenom who pitches and plays outfield. Mike Montgomery will once again prepare as a starter in spring training and fill a rotation role as needed. He also underwent TJ surgery in high school.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
