President Donald Trump on Saturday continued to try to capitalize on the Justice Department's internal watchdog report on the department's handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe in an attempt to discredit special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation. Trump claimed his original, false, explanation about the meeting was "irrelevant" because he gave the statement to the New York Times and not "a high tribunal of judges".
Giuliani responded equally directly, and covered more ground than just Manafort.
"Doesn't mean that anybody should rely on it", Giuliani added later in his answer, noting other presidents who he said had issued pardons "in these political investigations".
"I believe that the Mueller investigation should be investigated not because necessarily of Mueller but because of its genesis in this very, very now completely nearly illegal and unethical probe, this Russian probe", he said.

"When it's over, hey, he's the president of the United States", Giuliani said.
Later, he told a different reporter that Trump will not use his pardon power while the investigation is ongoing, but may exercise it after the probe has ended.
Manafort will be in jail for the next three months awaiting trial on charges that now include witness tampering.
"The IG Report totally destroys James Comey and all of his minions including the great lovers, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who started the disgraceful Witch Hunt against so many innocent people", Trump tweeted Saturday morning, adding, "It will go down as a dark and risky period in American History!"

He added that unity is a condition for building a formidable nation, without unity, a country is politically vulnerable. Azerbaijani Muslims did not stop fasting even during the Soviet period when all religious holidays were banned.

He said the messages indicted to a clear fault in the special counsel's probe and called on it to be suspended. "Oh, I see, there was no Russian Collusion, so now they look for obstruction on the no Russian Collusion". Giuliani on Sunday said the investigation was "unfair" and there was no criminality involved. Giuliani said they're not concerned that prosecutors obtained more than 700 pages of Cohen's encrypted texts and have pieced together 16 pages of shredded papers. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others?
Trump has not yet spoken to Mueller as part of the probe, and Giuliani suggested Sunday that he should not do so under oath - pointing to Trump's recent backpedaling on how he characterized his son Donald Trump Jr.'s 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer as evidence of why it's hard to sort out "a lot of different recollections".
Could California be split into 3 states?
His group, headed by former Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, has been hammering at the proposal for months, accusing Mr. Draper of dragging the state into an expensive mud-fight for a measure that has no prospects for success.
Echoing Trump, Giuliani said that the Russian Federation probe was based on documents that former FBI Director James Comey had "illegally leaked".
"I don't want to do it", Giuliani said, referring to a Mueller interview with Trump. "The president wants to do it". I just read it here in The Washington Post.
One day after the release of the report which was critical of Federal Bureau of Investigation officials, Trump claimed, "I think that the report yesterday - maybe more importantly than anything - it totally exonerates me". "It is news to me".
