Earlier the first two schoolboys emerged from the cave after divers launched a daring and risky mission to rescue the children and their soccer coach, who have been trapped underground for more than two weeks.
The youngsters, aged between 11 and 16, faced a risky and frightening journey out of the flooded Tham Luang cave system on Sunday.
The entire world has their eyes fixed on the tireless rescue operations that are now underway in Tham Luang cave in Thailand where a junior football team of 12 boys led by a young coach is trapped.
"Four boys have reached chamber three and will walk out of the cave shortly", Lt. Gen. Chalongchai Chaiyakam said.
Ousted Pakistan PM sentenced to prison for corruption
At least on Friday, it appeared unlikely that either Nawaz Sharif or his daughter would appear in Pakistan to go to jail. The court ruled that the Sharif family's Avenfield apartments in London shall be seized by the federal government.
Foreign elite divers and Thai Navy SEALS began the complex operation to extract the 12 boys and their football coach on Sunday morning as they raced against time, with imminent monsoon rains threatening more flooding that would doom the mission.
British Cave Rescue Council Chairman Peter Dennis told Sunrise this morning that the decision to delay the next dive was due to the strenuous work the divers are undergoing.
Earlier in the day, Tossathep Boonthong, chief of Chiang Rai's health department, told Reuters that the first two kids had been taken to a field hospital near the cave. They gave a deadline of 9:00 am to clear out, setting off a frenzy of moving and packing.
Relatives of the missing boys show photos of them after the 12 boys and their soccer coach have been found alive in the cave where they've been missing for over a week after monsoon rains blocked the main entrance on July 02, 2018 in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The ambulances and helicopter are on standby to take the rescue to a hospital.
At least 17 deaths in Quebec attributed to heat
Besides the heat and humidity, Environment Canada is also calling for "very high" UV levels which means a higher risk of sunburn. The move is part of the federal government's climate change adaptation in expectation of more frequent heat events.
The mission to free the remaining members of the group has been suspended for at least 10 hours, Chiang Rai Governor Narongsak Osotthanakorn said, as teams replenish supplies used up removing the first four boys.
Officials wouldn't say how much diving the boys would be required to do in the rescue operation. The boys, all members of a local soccer team called the Wild Boars, had been hiking in the caves when they became trapped by rain waters. The rising water filled large stretches of the cave, cutting off the team's escape route and keeping rescuers from finding the team for 10 days, CBS News noted. A former Thai navy SEAL died making the dive on Friday.
The first two boys successfully completed their mission at 5.40pm and 5.50pm local time (8.40pm and 8.50pm AEST), with another two following two hours later, ten minutes apart. "Based on the complexity and difficulty of the cave environment it is unknown how long it might take and how many children would exit the cave".
"Today is a D-Day for our operation", Narongsak said.
