Now the Roswell, GA officers are suspended after bodycam video shows them giggling and using a coin-toss app to decide whether or not to arrest Sarah Webb who admits she was speeding.
But if that wasn't enough, the officer is then seen returning to the patrol auto where she and her partner consider what to do - take the motorist in on a reckless driving charge, or let her go with a ticket.
Roswell Police Officers Courtney Brown and Kristee Wilson were involved in a traffic stop April 7 after Brown pulled over Sarah Webb, who was on her way to work.
Officer Wilson: "A (arrest) head, R (release) tail".
Brown noted she didn't have speed detection while another officer said they didn't have any tickets left to hand out.
They chose to flip a coin to decide it: heads, arrest; tails, release, according to the statement by the Roswell Police Department.
Manny Pacquiao stops Lucas Matthysse to claim WBA welterweight title
Gracious in defeat, Lucas Matthysse acknowledged that his fight against Manny Pacquiao was his to lose. However, Pacquiao refused to be moved after the fight when asked about a potential next opponent.
"I think they should be fired I don't think at all that they should be getting a paid vacation", said Webb.
Investigators will check whether the officers handled other arrests with the app.
Police officers in Georgia apparently relied on the same trick when it came to deciding whether or not to detain a motorist they've stopped.
While the officer appears to have used a coin flip in the discussion of the motorist's fate, it ultimately doesn't appear to have affected the officers' decision to arrest Webb.
Webb had already spent a few hours in jail and had her vehicle impounded by the arresting officer despite her boyfriend showing up to retrieve it.
Brown proceeds to open a coin-flipping app on her phone, according to WXIA.

WXIA-TV reported the department denied Webb's request to see the video.
Officer Wilson: "This is tail right?" "This behavior is not indicative of the hard working officers of the Roswell Police Department, I have much higher expectations of our police officers and I am appalled that any law enforcement officer would trivialize the decision making process of something as important as the arrest of a person".
'I would like to see them fired, because they shouldn't have been playing with my freedom on a flip of a coin, ' she said.
