The indictment represents special counsel Robert Mueller's first charges against Russian government officials for interfering in American politics, an effort US intelligence agencies say was aimed at helping the Trump campaign and harming his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.
But Deputy US Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has insisted that "the goal of the conspirators was to have an impact on the (US) election". That put Rosenstein in charge, and he promptly appointed former FBI Director Mueller as special counsel.
But Ushakov told reporters on Friday that the USA side in the summit may raise the issue of alleged election meddling.
The Kremlin has insisted it did not meddle in the United States election. It contains no allegations that US citizens committed a crime, he said. "I think that we would have a chance to have a very good relationship with Russian Federation".
The announcement of the indictment came at an awkward time for Trump, who met Britain's Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle on July 13 for tea during a visit to Britain.
Blockbuster closing 2 Alaska locations, 1 store remaining in US
For years now in Alaska, announcements have cropped up every few months that another Blockbuster will shut its doors. The company filed for bankruptcy protection in 2010 and parent firm Dish Network started closing USA stores in 2013.
The claims were "an old duck" and a "heap of conspiracy schemes", said Moscow's foreign ministry in a statement.
According to the indictment, the 12 are members of the GRU, a Russian Federation intelligence agency within the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian military.
Several prominent Democratic lawmakers called on Trump to cancel the summit.
"The stories you heard about the 12 Russians yesterday took place during the Obama Administration, not the Trump Administration", Trump wrote.
On July 27, 2016, Trump said at a news conference: "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing", referring to emails Clinton had deleted from the private server she had used when she was secretary of state.
Speaking at the conference of the National Association of Secretaries of State in Philadelphia, Nielsen said the US intelligence community does "consistently observe malicious cyber activity from various actors against USA election infrastructure", according to prepared remarks released by the department. The Justice Department has already turned over more than 800,000 documents to congressional committees, yet the subpoenas seek additional materials, including records about any surveillance of Trump campaign associates.
Anderson stuns Federer in quarter-final cliffhanger
Federer raced to a two-set lead but Djokovic forced a fifth before running out of steam, both physically and mentally. Federer had been pursuing a 13th Wimbledon semi-final and a 44th appearance in the last four of a grand slam.
And the spies, posing as Guccifer, allegedly communicated with someone connected to Mr. Trump's associates, saying "please tell me if i can help you anyhow ... it would be a great pleasure to me". "The person responded, "(p) retty standard".
Some of the documents and emails were released through a website identified in the indictment only as "Organization 1" - believed to be Julian Assange's WikiLeaks. "I will absolutely bring that up", he said. No Americans are involved.
"Somebody said are you friends or enemies? At or around the same time, they also targeted seventy-six email addresses at the domain for the Clinton Campaign".
The charges were drawn up by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director who is looking into Russian interference in the November 2016 vote and whether any members of Trump's campaign team colluded with Moscow.
The indictment stands as the clearest Justice Department allegation yet of Russian efforts to interfere, through illegal hacking, in the USA presidential election before Americans went to the polls - and the first to implicate the Russian government directly. They stole thousands more e-mails, and rooted through the computers for sensitive documents.
