The launch from Blue Origin's test site in West Texas is set to occur at 14:00 UTC - with the test campaign now in the final leg ahead of carrying paying customers.
The high-altitude escape motor test is created to simulate what would happen if there was a problem with the launch vehicle during ascent. One company sent up a system created to provide reliable WiFi connectivity in space, while another added a number of textiles to the capsule so they could test their viability for use in space suits.
The test flight also carried 12 payloads and even a passenger - specifically an instrumented dummy brilliantly named "Mannequin Skywalker". Once the booster separated, the capsule's escape motor fired, lifting the spacecraft to an altitude of 389,846 feet.
The launch was webcast live on Blue Origin's website. It should start at 8 a.m. PT.

"We'll be doing a high altitude escape motor test - pushing the rocket to its limits", noted Blue Origin ahead of the test.
The reusable New Shepard rocket settles to a picture-perfect touchdown.
More than half a dozen scientific payloads were packed inside as well, plus mementos from Blue Origin employees that were included as part of an internal "Fly My Stuff" program.
"Anything could have happened today, and this is the best possible outcome", launch commentator Ariane Cornell said.

While the Spurs cleared him to play, Leonard never felt comfortable, and the gap between the two sides only seemed to widen. Leonard, a 6-foot-7 small forward, has averaged 16.3 points and 6.2 rebounds over his seven seasons with the Spurs.
The launch was pulled off without a hitch: both the booster and the crew capsule returned to Earth. "Just another day at the office", she said. "Great engineering and the lucky boots worked again". Those missions will rely on the bigger, more powerful New Glenn rocket still under development. That first crewed flight could take place before the end of the year.
Blue Origin continue to take 2020 for the maiden flight of the New Glenn rocket, which like its smaller sister New Shepard, will include a booster that will return for reuse.
Strapped into reclining seats at launch, the New Shepard passengers will be able to unstrap and briefly float about the cabin near the top of its trajectory when they will experience five to six minutes of weightlessness and enjoy the view from the largest windows ever built into an operational spacecraft. Also, ticket prices for a trip into space haven't yet been decided, noted Cornell. It's coming, but we've got our eye on the prize, and we've got to make sure we understand our system through and through.
