Trump on Tuesday dismissed the mounting criticism of his trade and immigration policies from Koch and his allies as the battle cry of a faction that has "become a total joke in real Republican circles". Trump captured North Dakota by almost 36 percentage points in 2016, and toppling the nine other Democratic senators are up for re-election in Trump states would expand the GOP's hold on the Senate.
The Koch-backed network of political organizations - which were founded by brothers Charles and David Koch but now include a larger group of donors - have historically spent millions of dollars backing like-minded Republican candidates for office.
The Koch network's influence, even among Republicans, has come into question in the conventional wisdom-shredding era of Trump.
Also on Sunday, Charles Koch, who is exclusively running the company after the retirement of his brother David, spoke to reporters about the current political divisions.
The Koch brothers did not endorse Mr Trump in 2016.

The Koch network has dabbled in working with and supporting Democrats when their interests have aligned, and the network alarmed some Republicans earlier this year when it funded a digital ad campaign applauding North Dakota Sen.

And Iran's OPEC governor, Hossein Kazempour Ardebili, said that Trump had been bamboozled into imposing sanctions on the country. Whenever the US has managed to change Iranian policies, it has been as a result of offering valuable incentives and concessions.
Other Republicans said they were optimistic that the warring wings of the party could reconcile before the elections, in which the GOP is trying to stave off a possible Democratic wave.
Charles Koch said Sunday during the meeting, "I regret some of the [lawmakers] we have supported ... we're gonna more directly deal with that and hold people accountable", according to The Hill. "I'm into hating the sin, not the sinner".
